The Vine And The Branches

Updated: Jun 5, 2018

REFERENCES: The vine and the branches: John 15:5; So let him say: Isaiah 40:9 & also Handel Messiah 1:9; The tender bloom: Songs 1:14 and 7:12.

Love requires (and produces) a profound interdependence and reciprocity. She is the vine but he is the deep system upon which her health depends; his strength is the thriving branches but she is the bloom that gives life to all of creation.

This reciprocity distinguishes love from the exercise of power, by abusers who degrade their "beloved" so as to usurp a high place above them. Apart from me you can do nothing [John 15:5]. Backed up with threats of violence, of being picked up, thrown into the fire and burned [John 15:6] . All based on this psychopathic definition of what friendship is: You are my friends if you do whatever I command you [John 15:14].

"So let him say, who would bring glad tidings to Zion, and to the cities of Judah: Behold! For truly she was the vine and he was the branches, he the deep roots, she the tender bloom that rises amongst the vineyards of En Gedi."

P. Julian - From the Chronicles of Lupa - Volume 2 Chapter 21.
